Job Description


What's it all about?


The Data Scientist is a member of CEE Data Science Lab team based in Warsaw. As a Data Scientist, you will be accountable for leading the design, development and implementation of analytics driven strategies and solutions for our internal and external clients. In this role, you will collaborate with Global Analytics, Business, and Technology teams across the organization to implement best-in-class solutions to drive business performance with a clear commercial ‘value’ and measurable ‘return’.

What we expect day to day:

  • An analytics expert in designing, developing and implementing best in class databased solutions
  • Create and deliver powerful business-centric insights from data through better visualization and storyboarding
  • Collaborating with the internal and external partners to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes
  • Execution proficiency in handing multiple medium to large analytic projects along with rest of the stakeholders in the Analytics team
  • Defining detailed analytic scope and methodology, and creating analytic plan
  • Executing on the analytic plan with appropriate data mining and analytic techniques
  • Performing quality assurance on data and deliverables by analysts and own deliverables
  • Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and all projects are reviewed per analytic plan
  • Ensuring project delivery within timelines and budget requirements
  • Building on team’s analytical skills and business knowledge
  • Enhancing existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics field
  • Providing subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex data driven analytic projects


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications


What we're after...

  • Minimum of 3 years of analytics expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of Payments and Banking Industry
  • Good understanding of data, market intelligence, business intelligence
  • Experience planning, organizing, and managing multiple large projects with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problems
  • Demonstrated resource planning and delivery skills

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency and continuous skills development in analytic and business intelligence tools, e.g. SQL, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI. Experience in Hadoop framework including Hive is an advantage
  • Hands on experience in data mining and statistical modeling. Good understanding of machine learning techniques
  • Hands on experience on processing extremely large data sets. Knowledge of payment network transactional data is a plus
  • Ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies
  • Define and design analytic approaches to business problems
  • Ensure the usage of the correct analytic measures and metrics to solve the business problem
  • Very strong project management skills and experience
  • Excellent understanding of data marts, data relationship concepts and data processing
  • Fluency in English

Business Experience

  • Results oriented with strong analytical, consultative and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies. Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries is preferred
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a matrix environment
  • Very detailed oriented, is expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports & data analysis
  • Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and delivery
  • Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn
